This report is the proceedings of the Expert Group Meeting on Population and Human Rights held at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, from 3 to 6 April 1989. The meeting was convened by the Population Division of the Department of International Economic and Social Affairs of the United Natuions Secretariat, in collaboration with the Centre for Human Rights of the United nations Office at Geneva. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss new and emerging human rights issues related to fertility, mortality and closely related demographic questions.
