The Population and Development database includes 62 time series variables dealing with population dynamics, labour force, education, health, economic growth, social development, natural resources and the environment.
These variables in the database include national-level data for 230 countries or areas as well as the aggregates for the world, development groups, major areas and regions as defined in the United Nations statistical classifications of countries and areas. The variables, which provide relevant information to policy makers, researchers, the media and civil society at large are relevant for analysis of the interactions between population, development and the environment. For most variables, the present version of the database includes the latest data available as of August 2014. The database is available on CD-ROM and web-interface.
